New Member saying Hi

Postby Fal Grunt on March 6th, 2010, 8:34 pm

My brother showed me this website to let me know of some local 4wheeling. My wife and I just moved to Medina from Colorado. I have some amount of 4wheeling experience, did plenty in Colorado in the mountains.

I have a 98 stock Wrangler with 31" mud terrians. I managed to quite a few trails with a little finesse that most were doing with 35's and locked axles.

I am a Tool & DIe maker in Medina and do Custom gun work on the side.

Hope to do a trip this spring with you all!

Currently I specialize in FAL's, AR's, AK's, 1911's and custom rifles (ie hunting/target). I started casually shooting 3-gun and Service rifle 2 or 3 years ago and so alot of what I do is centered around competition/combat style shooting. I am a Sig Sauer and Armalite certified Armorer.

I believe my brother is a member, though I do not know his user name. Maybe he will chime in.

What is the maximum distance at the range available?

A few recent builds:
Norwegian Konegsburg 1914

Model 36 - bobtailed hammer, trigger job, chamfered chambers Model 629 - barrel replaced w/ 4", trigger job, night sights, chamfered chambers, faced cylinder and cut forcing cone

Czech vz.58

Old School AKM
Image
Custom Ak-74M built for 3-gun (currently going to be replaced)
Image
My pride and joy; custom 5" mostly Ed Brown internals, my new 3-gun and competition pistol while still being practical enough to carry
Image

And of course, my jeep at home in its favorite place, the Colorado mountains:
Image
Slaughterhouse Gulch, hardest, dumbest thing I have ever done... by myself.
Image
Narrow rocky trails with zero clearance were typical and fun.

But, the stress was always worth the views.

Never became a member on arfcom because they would not let me register with my gmail account.

Fal Files, AK Files, Gunco, Weapons Guild, Gunbroker, and pretty much anywhere else I have the same screen name.

Yes I am a member but I have yet to attend an event. Hoping to come in april. I have to see about getting my weekeds oncall switched. The wife is a little nervos about us bringing our stock liberty. So we might come in the old ford crew cab.

Have no fear with the stock Liberty. There's plenty of room to play! We're just a smidge beyond stock at this point and have a blast.

Stock Libby= No problems. I ran mine in street tires with no skid plates and no lift for 5 months with no problems on the stock trails. First time after lift with tires i dented the driver side rocker panel on a moderate mod trail.
I drank the grape kool-aid and it was gooooood.

Our range at JS is 100 yards.

Welcome aboard. You and your wife will love it here. Our views don't quite compete with your pics but we all love JeepSkool like it's heaven on Earth. The friendly people make up for not having mountains.
